The wait is over!
I just had to blog this, too big a date not to!
Official announcement here.
Its going to be an exciting autumn.
Can any of you admins out there tell me what I am missing!?
I have a RHEL server running Domino in VMware, so far so good. I can ping from the host both IP address and hostname, Domino is up and running and I can connect over http and run the Domino web admin.
Problem? I can’t connect from the Notes or Admin client!!
What am I missing? I have created location and connection documents, but get the “server not responding” error message.
Any ideas welcome!
Thanks in advance, from a dev geek!

Vista Aiding Linux Desktop, Strategist Says
“Linux is good enough today to run as a corporate desktop and, like any technology, does not have to be perfect, just good enough”
In terms of elegance and aesthetics, Microsoft and Apple are many years ahead of Linux.
451 Group analyst Raven Zachary
Ignoring Mac OSX for now, I’m not sure what this is being based upon. I’ve been using Ubuntu since 5.04, and in its current form I’d say it is every bit as elegant and aesthetic as Windows XP.
I’m not sure Mr Zachary is being fair calling the Linux OS “scrappy”. Is he talking about the OS, the UI, the applications, or all three? Comparing just the Linux OS with Windows, which one would likely justify the description given proper investigation? The UI, if comparing Gnome and KDE with Windows Vista, he has a point, but if we don’t need or want the effects, its a much closer call. And as for the applications, I think we’ve all had to use some pretty poorly designed UIs for applications running on Windows, right? (Mentioning no names! ;-))

Theo’s recommendation for a wine cooler
You can imagine the scene, you’ve just come to the end of a four year struggle to successfully organise a major global sporting event, no doubt with weeks of tying loose ends up still ahead; no sooner is the cup held aloft do you learn that you’ve got to do it all over again, only this time in a 2 year time frame… then news reaches you that there’s a court action challenging your every decision, so things are going to be even more complicated. The good news is you’ve pretty much spent the past 4 years accumulating all that you need for the next campaign, so you don’t have to worry about that. At the very least, you’d think your boss would let you hang on to your desk and chair to work from.
But this is the America’s Cup, and there’s sponsorship money to squander. So you decide to arrange an auction of everything that’s beginning to look a bit tatty - perhaps you have a new colour scheme in mind for the office, or you simply see an opportunity to rid the organisation of that golf buggy you might have accidentally ‘pranged’ on one of those cerveza-fuelled late night races around the car park.
Hilarious! Follow the link below for more.
So whats the big deal? The auction is real, check it out here: http://www.32acauction.com/
