Too often when a consultant is reluctantly hired, far too late in the game, at an exorbitant rate, with little chance and less interest in making a real impact, and their eyes on the cheque at the end of the engagement.
Then let’s consider the BS, the jargon, the purported best-practice, all designed to obscure the fact that real value is hard to define and even harder to measure.
All leading to some expected deliverables. Too often the end result is simply an impressively glossy, fancily formatted report, that is condemned to the recycle bin.
What happened to tangible results, actual change, and real improvements, or in one word, value?
Consulting needs a makeover. A renaissance.
