Interesting developments, given the importance of Indian IT firms not just in the outsorcing market. I wonder what sector will they take on next?

  1. Hmm, after seeing some software products developed in India, I wonder how Jaguar and Land Rover will look like in a few years. 🙂
    We are working on implementing a new billing system at my workplace, built in India. It create XML files for it’s output, that we then have to read to generate invoices and notification.
    The interesting thing is that the XML is using several different date formats in different reports, there are even some reports that contain two or 3 different formats in the same file. YYYY-MM-DD is of course used in some places. MM/DD/YY in some, M/DD/YYYY in some and YYYYDDD (Julian date!) in some…
    Then we have the fact that all XML outputs are dumped into one directory on teh server, with no indication in teh file name what type of report it is. We have to open each file to see which one it is…
    Still, using Julian dates blows me away…

  2. Karl – Perhaps they are ex-OOXML developers who landed at this new firm after being laid off by Microsoft.

  3. It’s sad to watch some of the most historical UK car brands being sold around over and over.

  4. Hey guys, thanks for stopping by!

    @Karl, interesting story, though you can find bad developers everywhere right!? 😉

    @Ben, LOL!! very good!

    @Vitor, exactly, and IMHO, these are two of the most emotive. I hope good comes of it.
